Dr Himangshu Das

Dr. Himangshu Das is a member of Ek Kadam Aur’s Board of Advisors. Dr. Das is the Director at the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan) (NIEPMD) in Chennai. Previously, he served as the Director of the National Institute for the Empowerment of the Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun, India, and the Director In-charge of the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan) (NIEPID) in Hyderabad. 

Dr. Das possesses a wealth of experience in disability rehabilitation from clinical, administrative, policy, and academic perspectives. He is a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, focusing on curriculum development, project and resource development, schemes, policies, and research and development. Dr. Das has been instrumental in establishing composite Regional Centres for Persons with Disabilities in Kerala, Maharashtra, Andaman, Uttar Pradesh, and Sikkim. Dr Das has served as a visiting faculty at Roehampton University in London, UK, and Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic

Dr. Himangshu Das holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from MJP Rohilkhand University, Uttar Pradesh, and Master's degrees in Special Education from Kurukshetra University, Haryana, in Psychology from Tamil Nadu Open University, Education, and in English from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala.
