Dr. Suresh Gupta

Dr. Suresh C. Gupta, MD, FCCP, FACP is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine and has been in private clinical practice in the United States since 1973. In addition, he has been a public servant and a community leader. Dr Gupta is a graduate of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Dr Gupta significantly contributed to academic medicine through his work as a Lecturer and Assistant professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine and Howard University, respectively.
Dr. Gupta held prominent leadership positions in healthcare governance and professional regulation. He served as Chair of the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance, following his earlier tenure as Chair of its Licensure Committee, and was appointed to these roles by the Governor of Maryland. He also served in key hospital leadership roles, including President of the Medical Staff at Prince George’s Hospital Center, and chaired multiple quality assurance and utilization review committees.
Dr. Gupta demonstrated his passion and a deep and sustained commitment to civic engagement and community service through serving on numerous state commissions, advisory bodies, and nonprofit boards, and held leadership roles in medical societies, cultural institutions, and charitable organizations in the United States and India. His contributions included supporting initiatives in cancer education and prevention, community health awareness, humanitarian relief, and cultural outreach. His public service has been recognized through multiple honors, including Hind Rattan Award, Unanimous resolutions from the Maryland Senate and the Maryland House of Delegates acknowledging his leadership and contributions to the community and State.
