Biswajit Ghosh

Director of Academic Affairs

Mr. Biswajit Ghosh was born in a remote village in Murshidabad, West Bengal, and lost sight at age ten. His resilience and determination enabled him to complete his studies at Ramakrishna Mission Blind Boys Academy, after which he joined Narendrapur Vidyalaya and studied alongside his sighted peers. He holds a B.A. (Honours) and M.A. from Calcutta University, as well as a B.Ed. and a Diploma in Teaching Visually Impaired (VI) from the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH).

With a rich professional background, Biswajit has worked with Tata Tea and served as a Resource Teacher at the Ramakrishna Mission Blind Boys Academy (BBA), eventually becoming the Principal of BBA. His academic contributions include serving on the Board of Studies in Special Education at both Calcutta University and Rabindra Bharati University. Since 1995, he has been the honorary secretary of The Society for the Welfare of the Blind.

For over 30 years, Mr. Ghosh has been a dedicated counselor and rehabilitation expert, supporting students and families. A recipient of the prestigious State Award for Outstanding Social Worker, Biswajit enjoys mountain climbing in his leisure time. He brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to Ek Kadam Aur Foundation, where he serves as the Director of Academic Affairs, guiding the organization’s efforts to empower visually impaired children through education.
