Mr. Biswajit Ghosh

Director for Arunodaya Program

Mr. Biswajit Ghosh was born in a remote village in the district of Murshidabad in west Bengal; he lost his sight at the age of ten. He persevered and completed his studies from Ramakrishana Mission Blind Boys Academy up to the eighth grade. He then joined Narendrapur Vidyalaya and studied with sighted friends. He completed his B.A(honours) and M.A from Culcutta University. He then went on to study a general B.Ed. and diploma in Teaching Visually Impaired (VI) under NIVH.

Biswajit’s diverse experiences range from working at Tata Tea and Ramakrishna Mission Blind Boys Academy (BBA) as a Resource Teacher. Ten years later, he became the Principal of BB A. He was a valuable member of the Board of Studies in Special Education in Calcutta University and Rabindra Bharati University. Mr. Ghosh served as an honorary secretary of The Society for the Welfare of the Blind since 1995. In his free time, Biswajit enjoys mountain climbing.

Over the past 30 years, Biswajit helped parents and students through counseling and rehabilitation. Mr. Ghosh is a recipient of State Award for Outstanding social worker. He brings all his wisdom from his myriad experiences and laurels to Ek Kadam Aur Foundation as an advisor for Project Arunodaya (Sunshine) For Blind.
